First, foremost & forever a storyteller.

Writing a better world.

One word at a time.

Hi, I’m Liv. When I was a kid, I was a big daydreamer. My parents would say I was ‘away with the fairies’. I didn’t know what that meant back then, but I remember wishing it were true. That I really were whisked away by fairies. I would explore our nearby woods, trying to find them - but I never did. So, instead, I would capture my daydreams in a journal, the words like glittering fireflies trapped in a jar. I would write about those fairies, about dragons, about a world where good always outshone evil, in a fluffy pink diary locked with a key.

Years later, I would go to Cardiff University to study journalism, graduating with a first-class honours. There I discovered my words had power, had purpose. That they didn’t belong locked in a diary. That I should release them into the world.

That’s why I joined Edelman - or as my old professor would say, joined ‘the dark side’ - to become a PR executive in 2017. I had no clear goal, only the idea that I wanted to tell stories and make a difference in the world (cliche, but true).

Shortly after joining Edelman, the agency launched its Editorial team, made up of predominantly ex-journalists, with the purpose of helping brands to write better stories. That’s when I discovered my path. I’m now a Senior Writer and have worked with Edelman for almost 7 years.

I never really felt like I ‘joined the dark side’, though. Because I never forgot my roots. I am first, foremost and forever a storyteller.

I’m still a daydreamer. The difference is, now I work with purpose-driven brands, helping them to tell stories that really are changing the world. Whether that’s ending pet homelessness with Mars Petcare, helping Dove to dismantle toxic beauty standards, supporting women in football with Heineken, or dismantling climate change with IKEA.
