Celebrating 10 years of activism
“At sixteen years old, I couldn’t imagine what the next decade would look like — I couldn't think what it would hold for myself or girls like me. But I was hopeful because I saw the world waking up to the injustices we faced. Today I can see the future more clearly”
This remarkable Nobel Peace Prize laureate surely needs no introduction. I worked as a consultant to the Malala Fund helping them to determine how Malala Yousafzai would address the world at UN House Nigeria on the 10th anniversary of her first ever UN speech. It was a huge moment for her: an opportunity to show the world she is no longer the same little girl, to retell her story and to decide what her story will look like moving forwards, while reminding the world that she is still fighting for equality in education.
