Anaplylaxis: Are you ready to react?
Allergies are the most common type of chronic disease in Europe, with around 150 million people (and 1 in 5 children) suffering from some kind of allergy. Despite being so widespread though, few people really know how to react if they, a loved one or a complete stranger were to go into anaphlyaxic shock. When someone has an allergic reaction, every second counts. That’s why Edelman worked with pharmaceutical giant Viatris and the leading allergy charities here in the UK - Allergy UK, Anaphlyaxsis UK, and the Natasha Foundation - to create a public awareness campaign about severe allergies and how and when to use an adrenaline pen.
As the lead writer, I was responsible for writing a comprehensive digital booklet that could be shared on social media or printed off to be placed in schools or GP offices. The booklet had to be clear, concise, accurate, but also easy for people of all ages to read and understand. This important public awareness campaign recieved signficant media attention, including appearing on BBC Breakfast.
